My birthday party this Saturday night will serve as my “last hurrah”. I probably won’t go balls to the wall or anything but that is the last time I will be consuming alcohol in the foreseeable future. I will be tagged “straight edge” if you will.
I have had absolutely ZERO desire to drink lately. It could be a money thing. It could be part of the “new Christine” thing. I think I’m trying to better my life in every aspect and this is one of the aspects. I’m happiest when I’m sober. I can still go out to bars and sip water, sing karaoke and undoubtedly have a great time (as I did last night – Browns game and then karaoke afterwards).
Plain and simple: I’m growing up. My actions have to grow up with me.
I can’t be 21 forever.
